FORCE MODEL

Rolling resistance is not a single material value.

It is the measured response of the wheel, caster, load, alignment and floor at a defined operating condition.

Wheel geometry

Diameter, tread and deformation influence the contact response.

Load

The complete load path changes wheel and bearing behavior.

Floor

Joints, debris, texture and thresholds can dominate the route.

Alignment

Swivel orientation and wheel layout affect actual push force.

LOAD MODEL

Installed caster load is an equipment problem.

Use a conservative support assumption for preliminary sizing, then validate the real frame and route.

Total mass

Include equipment, payload, accessories and foreseeable loading.

Center of gravity

Check how the load shifts across the installed caster positions.

Frame stiffness

Do not assume every caster carries an equal reaction.

Floor condition

Allow for uneven support, thresholds and dynamic transfer.
