Why can moisture matter?
Some polyurethane chemistries are more vulnerable to hydrolytic degradation than others. Exposure severity depends on temperature, humidity, immersion, cleaning frequency and formulation. A general material label cannot replace compatibility data.
What should a wheel specification include?
Record the compound, hardness range, tread thickness, bond system, expected chemicals, temperature and duty cycle. Ask the supplier for test methods and limitations, then validate representative wheels under realistic cleaning and loading conditions.
